Mercer House- 265-7366 441 CY Ave.

-Strengthening Families (10-14) is designed to bring families closer together and create family environments with lots of love and yet, very definite limits. The interactive evening classes are 6:00-8:30 p.m. on Thursdays for a total of 6 weeks. Dinner is served. Parents and children attend together. There is no fee for the classes

-Parenting Wisely (ages 8-18)is an online class to allow caregivers the flexibility to learn new parenting skills. Parents learn assertive discipline, contracting, active listening and other skills through 9 interactive scenarios. Do not need a computer to participate. A minimum of 3 support groups must be attended in order to complete the program; these are held each Monday from 5:30-7:30 p.m. There is a $35 fee for this program.

-Raising a Thinking Child (ages 3-7) is a Best Practice program that gives parents and caregivers ideas and fun activities to help children develop positive social skills, impluse control, and problem solving techniques through play. Classes are 6:00-8:00 p.m. once a week for a total of 6 weeks. Dinner and on site childcare in provided. There is no fee for the classes or workbooks.

UPLIFT- 232-8944 145 S. Durbin St. Suite 201

-Triple P (Postive Parenting Program) is a multi-level system of family intervention that offers practical advice and effective management strategies for tackling problem behaviors and developmental issues in children and youth. it aims to promote positive, caring relationships between parents and their children, and is especially effective for parents of difficult to manage children/youth who are demanding, disobedient, defiant, aggressive or generally disruptive. The program offers parenting skills encompassing ages 2 through 18. It is held once a week on Thrusday evenings from 6:00-7:30 p.m., for a total of 8 weeks. Childcare and a light meal are available. A certificate of completion is provided at the end of the program. There is no fee for the classes/materials.

Department of Family Services- 473-3900 851 Werner Ct. Suite 200

-Triple P (Positive Parenting Program). Same curriculum as offered by UPLIFT. Group classes are offered in the spring and fall, two groups which encompass ages 2-12 and 12-18. Classes are held once a week on Saturdays from 10:00am-4:00pm for 3 consecutive weeks. Parents must attend all sessions. There is no fee for the classes. Lunch is provided. No children services. A certificate of completion is provided at the end of the classes.

First Southern Baptist Church- 265-6540 2555 E. 2nd St.

-Value Packed Parenting. How to talk so kids will listen, how to listen so kids will talk. Group parenting classes are offered to all interested families. Church membership is not required. The program encompasses parenting strategies and skills for ages birth through teen years. Participation of expectant parents, grandparents, foster parents and step-parents is welcome. Classes are held every Wednesday from 7:00-8:30pm; is is a 10 week program, but parents may start at any time. There is a $5.00 fee for the workbook.

Central Wyoming Counseling Center- 237-9583 1430 Wilkins Circle

-Strengthing Families and Celebrating Families. Group parenting classes are offered only to Therapeutic Foster Care families twice a year, in spring and fall. Classes are held once a week from 5:30-7:30pm for a total of 6 weeks. Dinner is provided. Families must be clients of CWCC and there is no fee for the classes. Families who are established clients at CWCC can receive individual parenting instruction. Sliding fee scale can be applied if families do not have insurance.


Self Help Center (Turning Point at Life Steps Campus)- 237-4769 1500 E. 12th St.

-Triple P (Positive Parenting Program) Parenting education classes are conducted by UPLIFT for residents of the facility. Classes are held eash Wednesday evening from 6:00-7:30pm. There is no fee for classes/materials.

Wyoming Medical Center- 577-2378 Women's Services 1233 E. 2nd St.

-Basic diapering and feeding, and newborn infant care are offered to expectant mothers only. No other formal parenting classes are offered.

Care Net Pregnancy and Resource Clinic- 473-2273 1746 S. Popular St.

-Mommy and Me. Basic newborn infant care is available for pregant mothers who are established clients of the agency.

Seton House- 234-1119 919 N. Durbin St.

-Parenting classes are available for in-house clients, or former clients on a case-by-case basis. Seton House contracts with a private therapist to provide the classes.

The Healing Place at Highland Park Church- 265-3977 411 S. Walsh Drive

-Group Parenting strategies mainly for step-parent families. This is an open, informal group and families do not need to be members of the church. There is a fee for books.

Natrona County Head Start- 473-5381 1500 E. 12th St.

-No on-site parenting classes offered. Refer parents primarily to Mercer House.

Natrona County Public Health Nursing- 235-9340 475 S. Spruce St.

-No parenting classes are offered. Free or reduced cost immunizations are available. Nurse-Family partnerships are offered for in-home site visits only.

Women,Infants and Children (WIC)- 265-6408 740 Luker Ln.

-No parenting classes offered. They are a referral source only; primarily to Mercer House.

Child Development Center- 235-5097 2020 E. 12th St.

-No parenting classes are currently offered. They may resume program in late February 2008. Classes are limited to parents who have children enrolled at CDC.

Catholic Ministries Center- 237-2723 623 S. Wolcott

-No parenting classes are offered at this time. Will update if classes resume.

Children's Advocacy Project- 232-1059 350 N. Ash St.

-No Parenting classes offered. They provide coordinated forensic and comprehensive services for alleged victims of maltreatment or those chlidren who have witnessed violence or abuse. Individual,family and group therapy offered.

NCSD- Becky Gurtler, School Counselor

-Active Parenting Now. Usually held in the fall, but spring classes may be offered in the future. Partnership with CDC, with classes being held either at the Casper Rec Center, Paradise Valley School or another center location in the community. It is open to outside participants and childcare is available. There is a $15 fee of the parent guide.
